Ludlow Street. Manhattan, NY.
I love this photograph in itself, but I also love it for the moment it represents. Ludlow is a busy narrow street, connecting the Lower East Side with the East Village. I was walking a little behind my daughter when I saw this scene in the sunlight about 20 yards ahead on the opposite sidewalk. I knew I wanted to get closer to grab a picture, but before I could say anything, my daughter began crossing the road with purpose and deliberation. I asked where she was going, and she turned around and motioned, "There, because I know you are going to get a photo."
